Carbon Graphite materials are a composite of different carbon materials and inorganic additives which have exemplary performance in demanding applications in either wet or dry applications because of their unique combination of characteristics.
Electrographite materials have been processed to extremely high temperatures to transform carbon raw materials to graphite and dramatically increase Thermal Conductivity, Electrical Conductivity, Oxidation Resistance, and Chemical Resistance.
Resin-bonded Carbon Graphite materials consist primarily of resin with varying degrees of carbon graphite injections to provide for specialized properties. These materials do not go through the coking and impregnation process.
Carbon Graphite or Electrographite can be modified through Silver impregnation. Molten Silver is impregnated into these base materials to impart additional benefits to the materials making them ideal for certain end-use applications.
This family of metals combines the high Electrical Conductivity of copper with other metal and graphite raw materials to produce proprietary materials with unique performance characteristics particularly suited for dynamic electrical transmission applications.
Impregnation with Antimony is uniquely efficient at reducing porosity in carbon graphite materials and reduction in Blister formation particularly in light hydrocarbon and hot oil applications. This is due in part to the low Surface Temperature of the molten metal.
Impregnating carbon graphite materials with babbitt materials increases the melting range to 433o F (223o C) to 479o F (248o C) which significantly constrains its application temperature limits and allows products to function significantly above the process temperature.
One of the main benefits to being a St. Marys Carbon customer is that we are one of the few carbon companies globally to develop our own proprietary materials. This means that our products will be fully customized to your specific application from start to finish.
