Senior Materials & Product Development / Process Engineer

St. Marys Carbon Company  a  globally  recognized  leader  in the mechanical carbon market  is  seeking  to  add  to  our  dedicated  team. An opening exists for a Senior Materials & Product Development / Process Engineer in our St. Marys facility to service industries such as, aerospace, automotive, defense, energy, fluid handling, mining, and oil & gas.

This position will ultimately play a key role as both Principal Investigator and Team Member on Material, Process, and Product Development initiatives.  Our materials and the value our products bring to our Customers are inexplicably linked to our Equipment, Processes and the product of our employees and their interface.

Activities will range from:

  • Interfacing with customers as necessary in order to make accurate manufacturing related recommendations and decisions
  • Develop and implement competitive manufacturing strategies; improving cost, capability and customer service
  • Improving processes by implementing control strategies to improve efficiency, reduce cycle time, narrow dispersion, and improve predictability
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues/problems with production personnel helping identify root-causes and develop effective long-term corrective actions

Exhibit proficiencies in:

  • First Principles, Engineering Precepts, Statistical Analysis (both Real-Time and Post Production/Experimentation) and Mathematical Modeling
  • Carbon/Graphite, Electrographite, and Copper/Graphite composite materials
  • Quality Management Systems, APQP processes, aptitude for product costing flow, and familiarity of AS9100 / ISO9001 Standards
